hey, can i dye a vinyl top? What product is the best for the project and will it wear away after a while? Ill be rippin it off soon so it is just a temporary solution for now. thanks

Yes, it is possible to dye a vinyl top. I inquired about this at a local PPG auto paint and equipement store. From what I remember it's a 2 or 3 step process that involves cleaning with a special cleaner then, then prep and dye. It's probably only a few more dollars to have a shop replace the vinyl top for you. The stuff from PPG I guess was supposed to be excellent, but I don't know, I didn't try it. I cleaned my top up very well and it looks pretty good. I didn't/don't have the money to replace it, maybe next restoration...
