Hi everyone, new to the site. One of those guys who used to have a Chevelle. You know, where 30 years ago you scrapped a car that would be worth about $10K today. It was a 68 SS 396 4-speed that I pulled the drive train out of and stuck it in a small block 1971 Monte Carlo. Of course wives and mortgages ensured the Monte's sale and only recently I've gotten back into the muscle car game. Nothing like being single to allow you to indulge yourself. I had a wide range of GM cars I would look at (67-72 Chevelles, Camaros, Montes (I know, 70-72), GTOs, Cutlass) and eventually found a little old lady with a 67 Camaro convertible. Being out of the game that long, it sure came as a surprise when it came to prices, particularly for convertibles. Always loved Chevelles, but I guess it wasn't in the cards for now. I'll see about posting a pic of my old Chevelle and provide a link. You'll love the Starsky and Hutch stripe. ;o) I pulled quite a few parts off it and sold most of them (that was a great looking hood). I still have a few bits like the front and back emblems, plus the dash strip. Part of the reason I joined so I could post in the "what's it worth" forum and see who's interested. A bit banged up but the repro plastic stuff strikes me as a little sad.
