I need to paint that portion of the heater box which is in the the cab of the car. What color is the heater box? is it a satin, semi-gloss, is it the same color as it is in the engine compartment, or what??

Mine is a lesser than gloss color. I say go with satin. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

I have found that "Satin" works best for me under the hood and for the heater box in the car. I don't know what it is supposed to be but I like that look.

I'd go with a satin finish. I actually found that rustoleum barbecue black (satin) worked great for me. It's high temp (not that I think it needs to be) and the finish is excellent.

The inside heater box on mine was a much duller black than the engine compartment side. It was somewhere between a flat and a satin black.
