This car was auctioned on eBay last year at this time with a near 1 million bid, but did not meet reserve. It then showed up at the Russo and Steele auction in Scottsdale (same time as the BJ auction) and was a no sale at less than 1/2 that. Hard to say what it is worth. Neat car. He has a website. www.z16chevelle.com (http://www.z16chevelle.com)

So thats the car that all the scale models are blueprinted from then? Like the Lane die cast, 1/18th Z/16?

That will be fun to watch the bidding. He should put in the Barrett-Jackson auction.

We should take a guess on what the final bid will be. I say $800,000.

Being documented #1 prototype, and the amount of money tossed around at Barrett-Jackson, I'll bet it will go for well in to the 7 digit price range. It should (to someone with more money than brains) be worth quite a bit more than the 70 LS6 that sold for over a million.

I would REALLY hate to see the Gov't get this car and booger it up.

I'd rather see it go the Petersen Auto Museum or somewhere to receive the care and recognition it deserves and be displayed.
