I always heard Pilkington is one of the best. LOF glass. Had one crack on me tho after about a month. Second one is about a month old now, got my fingers crossed :D Wasn't real happy with fit from Auto City Classics on side glass, don't know about their windshields.

If you have good door glass KEEP IT!
You will not find new repo. glass that fits the curve of the door.
Unless you want clear, if you want clear Pilkington has it,but not the quarter glass.
If you want tinted start looking for good used or mabe NOS.
I have been trying to get door glass in my car for 3 months, I may have it all monday?
Here's the problem, the company making the glass FACTORY #243 has chosen not to put a compound curve in it.
So the door glass doesnt have a curve in it like the door front to rear, when installed the window fuzzie rubber and the glass dont touch on the outside in the center.
I could put a paint stick between the glass and the rubber with the door closed, yes it was adjusted correctly.
I finally got them to take my door glass back and give me a refund.

They told me "you dont wash the kind of car I am building?" and "keep it out of the rain".
I live in Fla. It could rain at any min.!
They say to keep the door drains clear?
I wouldnt take any glass made at (DOT243) for a 69 or 70, if you do make sure they will take it back if your not happy with the fit.
Good luck T.C.

I bought a '69 hdtp WS from Auto City Classics about 5 yr ago at a Super Chevy Show for $99. It fit and looks good. Shipping on those must be by truck.

TRKMEC,

The price you've been given is totally unreasonable. I grew up in that business, and there are still two glass shops in our family. I'd think you're OK with either PPG or LOF/ Pilkington. The nice thing about the LOF is that you can special order the correct logo and date code. If that doesn't matter, use the PPG or new logo LOF. I did a quick check at our shop, and that windshield in PPG carryout would be about $180. LOF might be cheaper. Under no circumstances would I pay freight. Let the shop order it on their normal stock order - it might take a day or two but its free.

It almost sounds like you were quoted for a correct logo / date coded windshield. There's no way out of the freight on those.

Hope this helps.

Jim

I was quoted $125 for a PPG WS for my 68. Haven't picked it up yet so I can't tell you anything about the fit/quality

I'd be careful of anything PPG. Their back glass for '68-'72 doesn't come anywhere close to fitting. Not even remotely usable.

The Pilkington windshield DOES fit. Paid $216 with date codes.
