I'm in Wichita and have heard the term, I know it's Halloween backwards, but what exactly is it?

It's a week long celebration that has a carnival, a beauty pagent, a play, usually some at least semi famous talent have a show, and a big parade at the end. It's the biggest thing we got going in Independence, KS (Southeast corner, of KS) around here.
I was just sort of wondering if there were other people that belong to this site that live around me. I tried to update my info on this site and was having trouble due to being a -computer lame-o.

PS I lived in Which- a -tittie for about 6 months once. I lived in a very exciting neighbor hood to say the least. The "hood" being the operative word. :)

I assume it leads up to the stores starting their annual Festivus sales.

You've got that right! Just like that. What's cool is there's usually a car show. I better check and make sure I'm not missing it.
Some people find the whole thing creepy, you know, with spelling Halloween backwards and all.

I live near Vinita, OK so you are not too far from me, but I have never heard of that. But I also work alot and don't get out much.
