I have a 72 chevelle that needs some rust repaired behind the rear windshield. The rust is on the top of the quarterpanels (not so much on the rear shelf between the quarters). I was told that this was a hard place to repair and it would cost me a few thousand to get it done right. Is that the case?

If the tops of the quarters are bad, there may be more rust as you dig into it. If it were my car, I would just replace the quarters. The filler panel between the quarters may also show more rust as the metal is replaced. A couple of years back I cleaned the sealer out of the channel and once the sandblaster hit the channel, the channel looked like a screen door. Water lays in this area and thus, rust will prevail.
If you are trying to keep costs to a minimum, they could be patched, but they will have to use a lot of filler to get the contour correct.
