Slang for an Impala - Donk = Donkey = Impala (apparently some people don't know what an Impala is so they think the symbol looks like a Donkey)

And no, I didn't actually know this, I had to look it up ;)

How do you confuse an Impala with a Donkey?

The only difference between intelligence and stupidity, is that intelligence has its limits.

And where do they find these donkeys with horns?

71 Impala w/original 454. I'd buy it. Would have to replace the wheels though. What I don't understand is, They spend all that money on the chrome and wheels and don't even clean up the motor.

As an original car, it would have been nice. The wheels are right there with the ugliest ones I've ever seen.

The Donk is really a slap on the poor ole Impala. I guess I'm too much of a purest to get it.

I really don't get it with the chrome and wheels and that car.

I'll let you guys fight it out.

Just kiddin...I'm a newbe and now you'll hate me. Sorry...I'm from So Cal and that car would usually have a few gangbangers in it with guns!!!
Buy it and a bandana or a fish net for your hair.

I have to wonder how many of those cars have rotten floors and frames because they spend all that money on eye candy.

"Donks" derived their name, according to one customizer, from the "big old donkey tires" that people put on those vehicles in the Southern U.S. Originally used for Chevrolet Caprices or Impalas from 1971 to 1976 decked out with fancy features and big rims, the term now often refers to all dressed-up older vehicles. Hip-hop car magazine Dub Magazine is working on building a 1996 Chevrolet Impala in the "donk style" with 30-inch wheels. And MTV's "Pimp My Ride" television show, which provides outlandish makeovers to jalopies, is creating its first "donk."

No matter where it came from, it's ridiculous as hell.

Is the piece in front of the hood supposed to be chromed out like that ?

I cant believe high profile shops are even getting in on this Donk Sh$t. Its by far the worst ever form of automotive customizing I have seen in my lifetime. I was just young enough to catch the tail end of the van craze and I still think that was kind of cool. Pastel paint in the 80s and wierd, overwhelming graphics, fine. This whole oversized rim thing is just the most stupid thing I have ever seen.

That 71 is a nice car that wouldnt need much to make it look like a real headturner. Loose the wheels and whatever tastless thing you call that chrome shield on the front is. I know where a 4 door 71, 454 car is sitting. Would also make a cool car. Dont see a lot of those 2 door, 454 cars. Most of those I have ever seen had the 400.
