: Another whats it worth question....
cuisinartvette Oct 23rd, 06, 1:12 PM Thinking (not too seriously, but Im throwing it around) of maybe dumping my 67 project and the Z for something different. I love these cars but am burned out on wrenching . (XX size flame suit on). Maybe its been apart too long..
Any idears of what the 67 may be worth as is or assembled?

Suspension has large sway bars, KYBs, 12:1 steering, poly bushings/mounts,SSM lift bars, boxed uppers, Eaton, 4.11, welded axle tubes, T56 trans, new tank, etc etc. Have all new trim/emblems/dash stuff in the box.
Needs interior reupholstered, headers/ignh and assembly to finish.
Dont be afriad to throw an honest opinion out there.
16k alone just in motor/trans/clutch (I know that doesnt mean anything when selling)...Trans has a little over 3k miles on it.
Scottvelle Oct 23rd, 06, 3:38 PM WOW. I was going to say $500-$600.:waving: but after seeing the pics and seeing what you have in the engine/trans I would say $1000. for both.:waving: :beers: j/k

get the camino back together , but with a basic 350/350 drive train.
and then sell it as a running driving classic.
And keep this drive train for your next project.
My thinking is, your killer drivetrain will not add all that much to the asking price of the camino (maybe $2K more) regardless of what you have into it.
Now the bad news, el caminos are hard to sell, and they dont bring the money they should.
with a decent 350/350 drive train, around here somewhere between 6K and 9K

http://adcache.collectorcartraderonline.com/10/7/4/85730774.htm
1967 CHEVROLET EL CAMINO, 327 V8, at, rally wheels, garaged, no ac, $8, 000,
I remember talking to this camino's owner on this site while he was deciding how to sell it, I "think" he said it was an all original, rebuilt drive train. repainted body etc....etc...
The Bottom line: is "El camino's are hard to sell"

Sure its not worth $6,000.01 maybe? :D
texaspilot180 Oct 23rd, 06, 10:20 PM If you really want to sell the Elky, I second the suggestion of getting a running small block into it, at least running and moving makes it an easier sell versus a partially finished project. Looks like you have a great start for someone that really wants an Elky to pick up the torch and run with it to the finish line. I've always wanted a nice elky as my daily driver, so small block/auto would work for me. With that much effort in it, you are going to regret selling it. Maybe take a little break, take a weekend away, relax, recharge and reconsider. Why lose $$$ when your not that far from being done? My 68SS is 65% finished with 90% left to go! As for value, I would think it depends on your local market, since thats where you will need to find a buyer for an unfinished project like that, and you will probably take a $$$ hit if you do sell.

oldtimebaseballfan Oct 23rd, 06, 11:17 PM White isn't the easiest color to sell either. Too bad. Looks like you've done alot of good work. From the pics I saw, it looks like it needs alot more work, do you have any recent pics?
cuisinartvette Oct 24th, 06, 1:55 AM I charged up a cherry picker tonight, some chain and some 7/16x1-1/2 in bolts.:D Going to yank the body back off tonight, if possible. Unless the seatbolt boses in the smugglers box cant hold the weight. If I buckle the body then all bets are off.
I dunno, maybe its been off the road to long and Im over it yet I still like it.
Just cant get the motivation to finish it and I hate that. :(
Guess if the right offer came along Id cut my losses, otherwise Ill put er together and decide then. I hope I get the fever back like I once did.
And yes, white is terrible for resale, wanted something clean, simple...and fast, thats it.
Tomorrow Ill wish it was black:clonk:
Ill get some "recent pics" in the next day or so. Chassis looks awesome ,underside of the body is just as smooth and shiny.
Nothing was halfazzed or cheaped out on. Not yet, anyway lol.

Yep, you are right. Too much personal and financial sacrifice, friendships and a few women Ive tossed to the curb to see this project this far. I didnt have grey hair when I started it.
I also realize its just a car once I took it apart. It lost its magic when I saw it was a pile of grimy parts, lol.

Well, you painted it white right? Next time wear a hat and your hair won't get that color. I think you need to just get back at it, things will fall into place and you'll be glad you finished it. White isn't all that bad, add some custom stripes if you want some more pizazz and get on down the road with a big engine rumble and a big smile.
Just tring to cheer you up.... we all hit the valleys with our projects and need to remember the peaks!

Clint44 Oct 24th, 06, 3:31 PM Yeah, just hang in there. I've hardly driven my 69 this year since I bought my new HHR. Have even thought about selling the Elky due to marital problems.
But,I think I'll keep the car a little longer. :D
Elkyholic Oct 24th, 06, 11:37 PM how much do you want for it :-)
and i dont need the motor just the elky
cuisinartvette Oct 25th, 06, 1:36 AM I dunno, pm me if you are serious we can talk.
