Hi guy's,have any of you had any experience with thee goodmark sheetmetal because i have a few questions for 70ss chevelle rt front fender that a friend of mine needs for his 70ss resto project.
1) How does Goodmark quality seem compaired to nos gm and whats your experience/s with them?
2) Whats the word on the street about Goodmark if any?
3) Does Goodmark use the original GM stamping press and or die?
4) Do the fenders look just like the original Gm fenders?
5) Is the fit just as good as nos GM?
6) Last of all,do you know of a good used rt side fender for a 70ss,if yes please email me with the info on how they can be contacted.
Thanks a lot....Scott

I bought a pair of goodmark fenders for a 70 chevelle, and I can honestly say thaey are great fenders. The goodmarks even fit better then the OEM fenders that I removed. I did no major reworking or tweaking to get them to fit. The only difference Ive seen in the repro and GM fender is where the inner fender bolts to the fender. The two nuts on the fender are of different shape, rounded corners were the GM nut is square, also the size of the spot welds are a bit smaller, but still retain the same amount of spot welds as I counted graemlins/sad.gif
Ive seen a few restorations using NOS fenders and glad the car wasnt mine. One in partilcular was a black SS396, you could throw a cat through the gap from the fender to fender ext. The ext wasnt even close to fitting anywhere nor did the door gaps. I know he used NOS fenders cause I asked him, plus I saw the boxes in the pics he had.
Ive also bought a pair of goodmark full oe quarters for a 70. Once again the fit and finish was excellant. I even compared the fit to a pair of NOS quarters that I have and got the same fit as I did with the goodmarks. Ive been very happy with all of my goodmark products, I see alot of aftermarket parts in day as I work in a production body shop and the parts goodmark offer are the best parts Ive seen.
Click on the link listed below and you will find a folder listed 70 chevelle project. Look through that folder and you will see about 4-5 pics on the goodmark fenders, and have many more too not posted. Fellow member 70isfine also bought goodmark fender(s) and he too thinks they are good fenders. I dont hink you will be disappointed in them...Eric

Wow!!!! I never thought I'd see the day that repo. sheetmetal from Tiawain would be better than the original GM metal  . If I were doing a car I would spend the money to get the GM fenders(or find a rust free set). I've installed many of both and there is no comparison between GM metal and the overseas thin metal stampings that you get from Goodmark.

maybe the care with the gaps between the door and the fender and the fender and the extentions actually had el camino NOS fenders.
that Goodmark Chevelle looks good too.

Slowpoke the car didnt have elcamino fenders.
Simply stating just because you have NOS parts doesnt mean the car is GOING to fit together. Each car, each part is different, and I dont care if the part is NOS, used or aftermarkert it will need some type of tweaking to fit the car right. I have 5 decklids for 1 car and each one fits differently and not a one fits just right to MY CAR. In order to get the fit I wanted I had to tweak the decklid.
