I usually sand the first coat in about five minutes with 36 grit.I wait till you can just barely leave a thumbnail print in it.It sands easy, the dust is kind of 'fluffy' so it falls on the ground and doesn't turn to dust and choke everyone..Dont sand it all off though, just knock it down semi flat. Then I wait about ten minutes,or till its hard, and sand it flat and then repeat that, then go to 80 grit and finish around 120 then go to glaze. If you wait for every coat to get rock hard it will take you forever.
