what is the best way to remove the rear window on a 70 elcamino? a have the trim off,the clips are still there. any special tool needed? thanx

Hi Jim, there is a cutter that you should be able to buy at a good parts store. You need to be real careful cause the rear glass is more fragile that the windshield and if the glass has never been out before, the seal will be really hard and probably the best way to do the job is to heat the cutter blade slightly with a propane torch as you cut the ribbon seal. Be very patient and careful and you will be successful. I am sure there will be others with tips along shortly.

Jim,

I just did this on my 72 el camino.

I found that the tech reference written by Wes Vann was very helpful.

I was not able to find the tool, but a TC member had it and let me borrow it. Just make sure that you keep the cutting edge parallel to the glass.
