This is the worst written ad I've ever seen. This nut case just wasted $45.

I agree it's not too swift but I guess you need not be an English major to sell cars on Ebay.

I just checked it out....and he's got a $10,000 bid on it.....I'd spend $45 on that.

Thats a sweet old car. It's the equivelant to a 427 impala. Whats so off about the price? It's a neat old care however you slice it.

Well, it wasn't the eBay ad copy that sucked us into viewing that listing - it was a Chevy boy no less.
Yeah, I hear that all old Mopars like that are rare - something about few buyers when they were new. Apparently so far the marketplace disagrees with the seller on "value".
The buyer of that beauty will probably care not that the purchase + resto cost would have bought him any one of number of other nicer muscle cars. However, the cost to restore a toad is the same as a golden pumpkin - only the pumpkin started out as gold and will always be more sought after and valuable when finished.
Still, I admire the rebels out there who want to be different and are willing to take a certain monetary beating on resale in the future.

Since the 427 Impala wasn't built in 71, it's not a good comparison. I would take a 60s 427 Chevy over that mopar any day.
As far as 71, the Impala or Caprice with a 454 would be more valuable than a Plymouth. The NADA price guide also agrees the 71 Chevy is more valuable than a 71 Fury.
He is way over priced on his reserve and I bet the $10,000 bid isn't anyone that is going to buy it.
I personally wouldn't want either car.
