The passenger door won't open from the insode or outside handles. I tried the coat hanger method and didn't work.

I just ripped the door panel off because I couldn't remove it nicely because the door won't open.

I have tried everything I know. I think it may be in the frame of the door well, not in the door itself. Maybe something in the "catch" won't release.

Has anyone had this problem? If so HELP!!!

I've seen this problem before, I'm sure someone will post a "how to" for you.

Yeah, I have advice, but it isn't the kind you want to hear. I did have this problem before, I wound up cutting the door apart to open it then replaced the latch and door. There has got to be a better way, but I was pressed for time and I had a complete parts car. I wish you better luck then I had.

the problem most likely is the door is still locked. try lubing it with the window rolled down and make sure the buttun on the outside handle is out all the way or it won't unlock. i would lock and unlock it several times i bet you will get it to open.

I had this problem with my passenger door. I unbolted the door from the hinges to get the panel off. Then I used a flash light to look inside the door. I don't remember exactly what the problem was, but by going back and forth from the drivers door that worked, to the passenger door that didn't, I was able to find the problem and get it opened. I'm sure the same process will work for you. My problem was that the door latch wasn't releasing, just don't remember what I did to get it to release.

I've had this problem on both of my Oldsmobiles ironically (1 is a 69, other is an 86). The 86 I held the inside door handle open and kicked it open. I don't recommend doing that in this situation (I was a tad angry when it happend that time). On the 69 Olds, however, The door lock mechanism was the culprit. You may have to lock/unlock the door with the interior lock knob repeatedyl until it pops all the way up.

I had this problem on my 64. Out side knob, inside lever would not open it. I made up a coat hanger tool to work the latch levers by wedging the window away from the WS (I already had a spare latch to figure out what lever did what). Looking at the spare I noticed there is a white plastic part on the inside that, if broken just right will jamb the latch so it won't withdraw. I looked at mine and saw the white plastic piece was broken. Getting a helper to hold the inside handle in open position I applied liberal pressure to the door from the inside (swift kick) and it popped open. Replaced latch and all was good. Make sure you douse it real good with wd 40 just incase it is just a hung up lever, the grease in them tends to solidify over time or worn metal shavings gum up the works.
