They are all the same except for convertible frames, which are boxed. SethT Oct 21st, 06, 2:12 PM Nope. They are all the same except for convertible frames, which are boxed. I just went through this a few months ago. If you don't get a boxed convertible frame, then give serious consideration to boxing the standard frame you get. It will allow the structural rigidity to use whatever motor you want, and the suspension to hook it to the ground. This thought did not cross my mind before I powder coated my new standard hard top frame, and now I have an itch for a 565 blower motor. Oh well, I guess. My $.02 is buy a boxed frame, or box the one you get to leave all options open. psi3000 Oct 24th, 06, 10:01 PM If I remember correctly when tearing appart my chevelle to do a frame off resto, dont the break lines go in the C-channel? And if so, wouldnt boxing it up meen you would have to find another way to mount them? I know if this is true that it is not a big deal. I would just like to concider how to mount the lines before i box mine, since I will be putting a 502 ramjet in. I am not too far from putting my body back on the frame either, so any input would be greatly appriciated. Brettd85 Oct 24th, 06, 11:42 PM Yes you do have to reroute the brake lines, but like you said its not that big of a deal. Alot of guys have come up with creative solutions whom will chime in here. |
