Seeking opinions on possible color combinations...I want to paint the car sunburst orange with white stripes, but not sure if black stripes would be better. And then what color for the convertible top. I'll probably skip the vinyl and go with a cloth top, but not sure what color...a brown to match the interior which is dark saddle, white, or black? All feedback is appreciated...

Since Halloween is coming and that's my birthday, I vote for orange and black. :D

Plus, it'll look great!

I vote for the black stripes. I think white is too "classic" to be with such a "new" color. if that makes sense. I think the hugger orange and white looks good though. Just not sure it would look good with a metallic orange like you are using.

I think a flat or satin black would look best.

I voted O/W/W... But I think it would look even better if you could do some type of pearl white. Would really set off the metallic and pearl in the Sunburst Orange...

For me i choose Orange with black stripes and black top trust me it will look the best at a show, to me its the best combo white does not really set the orange off alot and sucks trust me go with black.If i were you i would die the interior black then it would really be a show winner.

What year chevelle? I just did my 68 went with a ghost stripe in gold pearl going with pearl white interior and vinyl top

I used to own a n70 SS Chevelle that was Monaco Orange with black stripes and black vinyl top. During that time I compared the Monaco Orange with black and with white stripes and my preference is now white stripes.

As a matter of fact someone repainted the car entirely Monaco Orange with black stripes and it looked better. So that just goes to show that the black top was taking away from the beauty of the car.

I don't know what Sunburst orange looks like but this should give you some help.

FWIW in '69 if you got a Monaco Orange Chevelle without a vinyl or conv top and optional side stripes it came with white stripes. Also Hugger Orange Camaros without VT or conv top got white stripes. If you got a black vinyl or conv top the stripes were black, if white or Parchment top you got white stripes. IMO white stripes really look killer with orange. Much better than black. Look at one with white (find a pic) before deciding.
