Elky83

About 3 years ago when I had my 83 Elky painted, I had the body shop that did the painting to install a hood scoop. For two years it looked perfect. But during the last year some of the rivits has begun to push the paint up a bit. The paint has not cracked or chipped yet, but when you look close you can see them. My question is: Can I pull the hood and sand down and lay fiberglass mate down and glass and blend the scoop back into the hood. I lived in Hawaii for 30 years and spent 20 of them doing alot of surfing so am fairly proficiant with fiberglass. But am sure there are fiberglass products that are made for attaching fiberglass to metal. Any help anyone of you could give me would be greatly appreciated. I realize that the best thing to do would be to buy a steel hood with the cowl already installed, but would rather spend the $1,000 to complete that on performance for the Elky. Thanks
