Using a Goodmark hood with the GM rear Stianless trim. The trim fits awful. I cannot get it to go all the way on, it's seems the lip on the hood that the piece sldes onto is too long, not only that one edge is flush (pass side) the edge on the driver side goes past the hood almost 1/4 of an inch, it fits well around the cowl induction area only.

At this point I am afraid to remove it as I may scratch the hood, I have to yet deal with the edge sticking out 1/4 of an inch - has anyone had this issue? If so what did you do.

I have a GM cowl hood and had to grind that lip all the way across the back edge of the hood to get the molding to fit.
Luckily I tried mine before I painted it.

Common problem Rich. My 72 with the original G.M. cowl hood has the same problems. They were a lousy fit from the start...
