Hey there - first post here - love the forums!

Anyhow, I have a 65 Elky with a 64 front clip. The guy who had this thing before me welded some crap-ass brackets to the original 64 bumper, and then welded the brackets to the frame. But, he gave me the bumper brackets he pulled off of the 65 to start with. My question is - will a bumper off of a 64 Elky bolt onto the brackets from a 65? Take into account, the frame is still 65 (which I believe is exactly the same as a 64) and the bumper brackets came off a 65. Just to keep things looking sharp, I would like to put a 64 bumper onto it.

Anyhow - anyone ever done this?

Thanks!

I think probably not, a 64 has a mostly flat front end and a 65 has a pointed front end.

Okay... will the 64 bumper brackets bolt directly onto a 65 frame? Am I correct to assume that the 64 and 65 share a frame?

Thanks guys - you have saved me a world of frustration...

Yes the frames are pretty much the same.

Anyone know where to pick up a set of front bumper brackets for a '64?

Try True Connections in California. They have a good selection of decent used parts.
