Hi guys...new to chevelles. Just got a 69. How are the rear quarters by the wheel wells supposed to look on the inside? I ran a magnet, and it sticks really good everywhere, but when I look far inside the side quarters from inside the trunk, I see an overlapping panel (the top panel is on the inside) and it's on both sides and seems to be somewhat uniform. To me they look like replacement panels and I think the body should be seemless on the inside, but is this correct? Owner represented all original sheet metal and before I blast him, I would like to cover myself.
Please help ASAP as I need to get back to the seller.

Looks like the wheel lips have been replaced, to me.

Mark there should not be overlapping panels. Can you bend back a small piece of the jagged adge? Does it look like rust from the original quarter panel? Hard to tell in the pics? What do the bottom of the rear rocker panels look like? Do you see a seam there?

Are you sure that it is not just that coating flaking off? Under coating or spatter paint.

There is a definate edge of panel there and looks like a row of spot weld dark marks on the inside...i think it's a replacement...a nice one as the magnet sticks everywhere, but still a replacement...if you all are saying it should have all been one piece, then I am confident. There is a seem in the middle of the inner fender well too....that wouldn't be two pieces would it?

I believe there is a seam in the inner fender.

The inner wheel house in the back of Chevelles, (and all GM's) is split in two pieces from top to bottom. There's an inner and outer wheel house. Not a top and bottom. If the outer is split in two top to bottom, then it was replaced too. (common place to rot) But the 1/4's where definitly redone.
