Has anyone used the plastic summit race seats. Getting ready to buy some and just wanted to know if they fit and look ok. Thanks

I seen some in the summit racing catalog. page 279. and they don't look bad at all

yea I know look good, cheap, and just what I want, but I'm afraid they might be too tall

Do you mean the fixed race bucket ($41), or the reclining "sport" seats ($189) that look like standard bucket seats in late model sports cars?

The fixed bucket seats are, as you would imagine uncomfortable. I would rather sit on an actual bucket.

The Sport seats are actaully a nice seat. I havn't driven in one, I've only sat in one and thought that the padding could be thicker on the butt, but they did feel pretty good otherwise. I didn't think that the back was any higher than the seats in later model Vettes. The lower lumbar support felt OK and they fit my shoulders pretty snug. If you're not a exceptionally large guy, I think they would be OK.

As much time as you will spend on the thing, I think maybe you should try to see if you can find someone that will let you sit on one first. Good luck.

I'm a pretty big guy but not huge, about 220lbs. My neighbor has one of these seats in a go kart and I'm going to try it out before i buy them. The problem is that he had to cut the top off so that it would fit. Main reason I want them is because they are cheap and I have extremely little money to play with.

I have a set of the Cheaper plastic buckets, Never installed them but they didnt seem too bad but I sat in them without the cushions. Now that you remind me I might go install them and see how I like them, the only down fall I can think of is that you cant get in the back seat with them without going threw the center
