The rearview mirror in my 70 has a map light in it and it works so I kind of want to keep it. The problem the glass looks like crap. Does anyone make a replacement glass for the inside center rear view mirror?

Just remove your mirror glass and have it resilvered. Do a search on the topic; it's been covered here many times before.

Find a good used 12" day/night rvm with a good glass in it in a junkyard.Should be able to get for under $10.

Soak in very hot water.it will soften up the outer rubber lip and loosen the adhesive behind the mirror.Slowly work a putty knife under the mirror and lift slightly in several areas.It will come right out.Do the same with your map light mirror.

Reassemble with small amount of silicone adhesive in center of mirror in a couple of spots and work rubber retaining lip over mirror edge.



I've done several this way-works every time.
