What is recommended for washing your car and polishing or waxing?

Interesting question. I use products from Griot's Garage and I have been very pleased.

Typical wash & wax routine for me.

1. Powerwash to get any of the large dirt particles off.
2. Wash the car.
2a. Dry the car, but can be skipped since you will be doing this during the claying stage.
3. Clay the car. Claying is very important since the clay will remove the small particles that are not removed during a normal wash and that can scratch the paint when you wax it.
4. Wax using a random orbital machine with natural carnuba wax. I apply one thin coat wait two hours to let it dry then apply another thin coat and then take off the wax.

This usually ends taking most of the day on a weekend for me, but my cars & truck look great.
