I have a 66 Chevelle that I will be installing a quarter panel on. The new panel wraps over the top edge about 1 inch. I thought I read here that the best location to cut the new skin in was 1 or 2 inches down from the side body line. It seems that the panel would install well over the top edge, as well as making the outer wheelhouse easier to install. Any advise?

I think if you go over the top edge it's harder to weld and get smooth.

It seems that it would be easier to weld that close to the edge, less flex and warping. Has anyone done it this way?
