Hello all, I purchased a Sandblasting box and I plan to purchase a good Air Compressor to replace my small 15gallon unit. I was thinking about a
Campbell Hausefeld Model: VT6195
6.5HP , 60 Gallon ASME Vertical tank, Twin cylinder cast iron oil lubricated
Cast Iron twin cylinder oil lubricated pump
10.2 CFM @ 90 PSI, Max 125 PSI

What are your thoughts for size and CFM? This is for my HOME garage.

Thanks

as long as it is not one of those direct drive types. make sure there is a belt between the motor and the pump. thay are alot quieter.

I have the two stage 5 hp unit that made by is Ingersoll-Rand and sold by Home Depot. Paid $900 for it I run the heck out of it using the 40 lb. pressure blaster from Harbor Freight, and any and all other air tools at the house. It is suppose to supply 15cfm at 175 psi. I think it is a little overrated but it works great for me. Have had a few single stage compressors and will never go back..

Do you all think that a 8HP oil one will be quieter than a say 4HP direct drive?
