got the new 400 done finaly and got the oil leaks straiten out.got her to the track last sunday and she ran a 6.94 off the trailer with a 1.50 60 ft .that was off due to test and tune track .went last night to race and really see what it was gonna do.ran a 6.950 98.73 mph with a 1.505 60ft off trailer.bumped timming up to 38 from 35 .went 1.497 60ft 6.884 at 99.09 getting better last run was dailed 6.82 1.468 60ft 330 4.365 1/8th 6.822 99.62 mph ,bad light cost us the round .60fts are allright but still not my best. i would like to know now,. how the arf 210s would have run on my 408 with the 12 to 1 pistons in her instead of the kieth black flat tops i have in the 20 over block now.the engine is still at least a tenth quiker than the old motor with the iron eagles on it.the best it ran is in my signsture, but that was before i added the gage that slowed it to a best 6.94 so i am still happy but not satified yet, probable never will be.

Doesnt sound like it.... the joy is in the chase isnt it!? Who knows what it would have done with domes;you could rough it up by using math estimates, but.... its purely "academic"... hauls ass now!

Well, that's a pretty nice improvement. As far as being satisfied, most of us never are. How does this combo compare to the old combo? Cam, comp, intake, headers, etc....

Satisfied? Never. I agree that at least half of the fun is the chase.

thanks guys.i probably woulnt be satified if had run 6.0s. i would be looking for 5.90s. my son told me that maybe it would run 6.20s and i told him he was dreaming .i was kinda hoping for a 6.70 pass .we may get it before the season is over .the other moter was a 406 with light weight forged pistons 12to 1s angle milled 64cc 200 runner iron eagles .herbert c6g roller victor jr intake 13/4 wheel well headers.750 holley dp with proform body 456 gears and a glide.the new engine is the same except its a 20 over block and flat top kieth blacks and the arf heads with 68cc cambers so the heads are doing all the improved times.with the compression being down the cam is not the very best choice but i had it and will be using it
