I have a torque converter that came with a th400 I bought. As far as I know it came off a 350hp 69 elco 396 motor with a th400. if that's the case what stall would it be?? Another question in general how can I tell the stall of most any torque converter. this conveter is so clean i suspect it might have been replaced and i need to know the stall speed of it.

BTW the converter is out of the car

Thanks Very Much

i cant tell you how to tell out of the car...
what i have read for converters in the car is from a stop floor it and notice the rpm the engine runs up to just as the wheels start to turn (spin as the case might be)

this is supposed to be mmore accurate than holding brakes hard and revving til engine overpowers brakes technique...and easier on tranny as well...
