: 17 inch wheel sugestions on a 1970 chevelle
bri2203 Oct 14th, 06, 12:52 AM Hey guys,
I am having someone edit my mist green chevelle to be lower, with largers wheels. Trying to figure out if this color and protouring style will turn out nice.
I am having some trouble finding some nice looking wheels at a decent price. I want to stay away from TT 2 because they are too common.
I would like to stay under $1300 for 4 wheels. I am looking for something that looks apropiate for the car in the direction I am going for.
Chrome, Polished, or even black with a chrome lip.

17Again Oct 14th, 06, 12:47 PM Here are Centerline Retro's. 5 spoke polished design without looking like TT2's or cragars. I have lowered the rear some after this pic was taken. Cost is close to what you are looking for depending on the tires you choose.

$175 each ! damn that's a good deal ! How much did they charge you for shipping ?

I see that they offer them with a grey center... I wonder what that would look like on your car ... I need to learn how to use pohtoshop...
eyewanta65 Oct 16th, 06, 10:59 AM I just looked at the link you posted. If you look at the photo gallery, my car is shown there. I was one of their first customers. Very nice wheels for the price. It's been almost 2 years I can't remember how much shipping was. Scott

$1300 should be enough to buy you a nice set of wheels or are you including tires into that number? If it's the latter, you have your work cut out.
Wheels are such an important decision as they can make or break the look you're after. As such,I wouldn't ask other people's opinions. It's your ride so pick what you want.

1300 was only for wheels. I am sure the tires will run be another 400 at least
Thanks for all of the Ideas!! I am gonna select my 4 choices and submit them to the person who is doing some rendering for me.

Mine are polished. I have seen a car with the chrome version, I preffer the look of the polished wheels. Scott

Brian,
Have you looked at Vintage Wheel Works V40/V45???
Another Brian here on TC has them on his 1969 light green Chevelle (17X9.5 with 275/40/17s all around!)...
Personally, I like these (I have them too on my '66). They are a good blend of classic and modern, and while they have a similar feeling to the TTs, they are different enough... "Standard" sizes will put you under the $1300 price (well, I haven't checked prices lately)...
1966_L78 Oct 17th, 06, 12:02 PM Well see there... I took so long typing that Brian actually posted before me...
webfoot Oct 17th, 06, 7:23 PM These look like the coys pictured above but the spokes are painted metallic grey:

Mishney Oct 17th, 06, 8:00 PM Those are from www.customwheelsmarket.com they are actually cheaper than the coy's but not offered in all the sizes/offsets.
jfman Oct 17th, 06, 9:48 PM I think the coys look better.. The spokes go inward and that creates a nice lip..
Just my opinion..
But these wheels looks great nd are CHEAP AS HELL $600 shipped for 17's
those look exactly like the ford bullit wheels.
SleeperBBC Oct 17th, 06, 10:00 PM These should be well within your budget with tires. They are easy to clean too!

brans72 Oct 21st, 06, 12:05 AM just to let you know 1966 L78 that is Brian's(69boo307's) car. I have seen it it seen and caught the smiley face he left behind on this post ( funny guy with that smiley face Brian). just to let you guy's know there great looking wheels and 17X9.5 is very nice on the 69 chevelles. if anyone know of any black wheels with chrome lips BESIDES the one set posted in in this thread PLEASE send me a link or post them for me. I really like the black center and chrome lips but hard to find a good style for my 72 ss. thanks.....
Those rims that look like the Ford Bullit rims look pretty nice! I'd love to see what those rims with a deep dish would look like on a 'Velle! I've got a set of deep dish 17x10.5s out back and 17x9s up front on my 02 Stang (black center with a chrome lip). :D

I will let you know when the next batch of atx spindles comes out as I have 17in coy wheels.
I have the c5 brakes sitting on a shelf, just waiting on the next batch to be ready from ATS.
