I am disconnecting the A/C to do a makeover on the front of my 69SS. I will have to disconect the A/C in a couple of places and store it for about 6 months. Besides plugs the ends, what else should I do to insure no problems when I reinstall?

Thanks.

You'll need to have the refrigerant reclaimed by a recycling machine before unhooking the hoses. If there's no pressure in it now, you can bypass this step. You WILL need a new dessicant bag and o-rings when it goes back together. If you ever plan to convert to 134a, now is the time to do it, so you'll need barrier hoses, and flush out all the old refrigerant oil as well.

I think what Shrukey was talking about is a Reciever/Drier.

molecules of 134 are smaller than r12 molecules. They can pass right thru most rubber hoses. If you convert to 134 you need hoses with a "barrier" built in to keep the 134 from passing thru. Most shops that build hoses only use barrier hose now-a-days.
