How is it sealed and what holds it in place? Mie is leaking and I would like to know how to remove it and what I need to reinstall it. My shop manual asks me to refer to an overhaul manual that I do not have. Lools like a flat tab on the switch and it swivels in the opening on the trans case shaped like an upside down letter C. It also moves in and out and 1/8 or so. Thanks!

Dave the kickdown plug is sealed by an 0-ring. You have to drop the trans pan to get connector out of the case. Once you have the pan down disconnect the one wire going to it (two wires if the trans is an early model) and use a 3/4 wrench box end to compress the spring tabs that
hold it in the case. Pull on the switch from outside the trans while you are compressing the tabs. Reseal with a new o-ring and reinstall reconnect wire and put pan back up with new gasket. If you happen to break the plug they are not very expensive from your local trans shop or dealer. Paul

Thank you! I would have never though to pull the pan.
