Does anyone know who makes the seat springs for a bench seat on a 72? I am looking for the part that your butt goes on and haven't seen them.

Anyone willing to guess?

I have yet to see any repop co.'s selling bench seat springs. My suggestion: go out to the wrecking yards with some close up pics of your broken/tired springs and tools like pliers, flat blade screwdriver, dykes, and a box cutter with a few new blades to scavenge from other bench seats to replace your springs. Good luck. 64elkynss

I am going to guess you are rebuilding an existing seat rather than building from scratch? Perhaps took the covers off and discovered some broken stuff inside?

The springs inside the seat are actually fairly generic... most good upholstery shops will carry either the same or very similar spring products. What you are looking for is "zigzag" springs. For example online:

I found a shop locally that would sell me this stuff by the foot. I ultimately just had the shop do the seat though. My thinking was that there would probably be just enough little special bits that I would only figure out I needed after hours on the weekend, that I would be better off letting them do it.
