I ordered up a replacement fan shroud for my 72 Malibu. It is a 350, auto, AC car (AC is missing, etc.). I ordered a re-pop shroud for the 71 to 77 Malibu per the posts on here that it would fit. So far, I had to trim a small edge where the shroud cuts over the face of the radiator otherwise it would interfere and tear up the fins. Now, I am trying to get the top plate back on and it looks like the top flange on the shroud that meets up with the flange on the edge of the top support plate are separated instead of fitting face-to-face. I am going to work on it some more but any ideas, tricks, seen this, been there done that? Thanks.

You may have to trim a bit more of the shroud where it meets up with the body of the radiator to allow the top to pull in closer. Some years ago I put a 4 row radiator in my '70 Elky with the stock shroud and the radiator being thicker created the same problem. I had to trim quite a bit of the shroud where it butts against the radiator to allow it to pull closer.
I don't know if a/c, non-a/c car shrouds are different either. If so, perhaps in re-pop they're all generic "non-a/c" shrouds and are intended to be trimmed to fit on a/c cars.

Pro68,
I did do a substantial amount of trimming and got it in. The height was a little too short to use the clips at the bottom. I made a couple of new clips. The top is an OK fit now. I have a little over an 1/8" clearance at the top and bottom of the shroud. I am thinking about changing out the 20" fan for a 19" for a little more clearance. I am going to take her for a spin in the morning and see if the blades hit while giving her alot of go juice. Thanks for the help.

Glad it worked. It seems like I had a problem with my bottom clips with the 4 row also. I think I ended up with it half-assed clipped at the bottom but it worked.

Pro68,
The clips I "fabbed up" (term is used loosely) work pretty well. Here is the final product.
