The shop that's painting my car is about to put the stripes on and there are some questions that have been bugging me.
According to what I've read early 70's and late 70's thru 72 had different dimensions on the stripes. My painter ordered the stencil kit from stencils and stripes but I believe it to be the later dimensions.
Does anybody know the dimensions the stripes are supposed to be for an early built 1970 (the first week of January)? I need all the measurements and thickness of pinstripes etc.
I'm very interested in originality but would anyone really notice if the stencil kit (later dimensions) was used on my car? Do judges know the difference?
I've got the Chevelle SS Restoration Guide by Paul H**d, which shows the different dimensions but this book has been wrong on numerous occasions and I don't want to trust his information.
Also what is the best technique for getting the stripes to line up on the cowl induction door.
Look forward to hearing from you if you have definite answers or honest opinions.
mr70, Micky you out there? Anybody?
