sholud I use to paint my upper and lower control arms. I am putting in polygraphite bushing kit in (has not arrived yet)and have the old getting pressed out and the guy at the shop says he will glass blast the control arms so I can paint them. What do you all think is the best type of paint and color to go with.

I'm a big fan of POR-15. I have painted the entire frame and the floorboards with it and couldn't be happier with the results. I would paint it with POR-15 flat black. Check out their website www.por15.com (http://www.por15.com) They sell a super starter kit for $14.95 that should cover your control arms. And since it won't be exposed to sunlight you don't need to topcoat it(the company says the paint will fade over time exposed to sunlight). Good Luck with your project!

Epoxy primer followed by a good urethane singlestage would be my choice, choose your color and have the paint shop reduce the gloss to a satin black with flattening additive. The blasting texture will be perfect for epoxy adhesion, no need for self etching primer IMO.

POR 15 is really bullet proof. POR 15 has a short shelf life depending on how fast you use it. If you use POR 15, I put two holes in the lid so I can pour out the product. Then I cap those holes with screws and seal them. Store can upside down if it crusts over it’s on the bottom of the can when you go to pour it out.

Good idea on the POR15 storage.
