I need seats in my 65 2 dr hardtop, and am contemplating and origional set from a 1965 4 door. Is the rear seat different? From the pictures it looks like it has more of a curve in the front for leg swing????? But again the seat is in pieces and i am guessing. Also i know the front bench seat wouldn't fold down, but does anyone know if you can convert the seat with minimal difficulty to fold down. (aftermarket parts?) I am envisioning taking off the cover and unbolting some middle "tie together" and freeing up the sections. But again totally guessing can someone please shed some light on anything to do with putting 4 door seats into a 2door!!!!!!!! ASAP!
thanks, jeff

I believe converting the front seat isn't really possible. The four door seat likely won't have the pivot points built into the base. I can't imagine the back would be two pieces "tied together" -- sounds more difficult and would take more parts and OEMs don't do this stuff because it costs more and slows down production.

I don't think the rears are the same either, but I don't really know. I'm basing that on what C.A.R.S. told me when I ordered seat upholstery for my 2dr sedan. several years ago. I had to order hardtop upholstery and they said the seats where different but the covers still fit great.

Sorry but I do not know, are you going with a front bench?
Maybe I am misunderstanding.

I have newer Chevelle front buckets but the rear seat is original.

Have you looked on ebay for original back seats for a 2 door or looked on ground up to see if the two interchange?
