Compare the door handles from side to side, if the one you are having trouble with looks like it is pointing toward the sky, it probably means handle mounting area on door panel is damaged. Velle handles are really simple, chrome handle, oval chrome button with long pin on back. button return spring is held place by a rotating retainer clip. 4 pcs. + gaskets. Handle assembly could take a LOT of abuse. Most common problems on this model: handle out of alignment with release lever on latch, or release lever pivot on latch corrodes and lever sticks in partially released position. There are no adjustments on handle or latch. On a hardtop you can roll door glass all the way down, carefully lift rear upper corner of inside door trim & pull away from glass. On some models just take the screws out of door w/strip at rear of glass instead. With a good flashlight you can see button pin and lever contact area. Push button and see how and where it meets release lever. One other possibility is that handle button pin is bent or release lever on latch is bent. These last two possibilities are the LEAST likely to have ocurred. Have fun Karl
