View Full Version : Interrior Work
Chevelle722 Oct 9th, 06, 4:51 PM Hey again guys. Although i should not be worrying about my interrior since i have engine troubles, i would like to know where i can purchase original GM chevelle seats for my exact year, i want to make my chevelle as original as possible, i want to find the seats they had for my year which is 72 chevelle malibu 350. I am in search of a website that has all the gm parts so i can order them online. Or maybe someone knows of swap meets around the oc area, i live in Anaheim California.
Any help would be appreciated guys, and one last thing, my floorpanels are bad, my seats sort of caved in soo that's why im looking for a bodywork pro and the seats, after i have my floorpans replaced, i am going to put new seats in my car, thanks for the help.
Robby
Are you talking about original GM seats or reproductions? I have never seen any original seats or even seat covers on the market. Unless you're extremely lucky and has plenty of money to spend you will probably have to look for good, used ones. Plenty of repro covers and buns out there though, they can be had from pretty much any resto part supplier.
Chevelle722 Oct 9th, 06, 5:10 PM i'm sorry, lol i meant oem like they looke exactly like orignal but are remade.
i just want new ones, that are made to look identical to the ones from factory that's all.
That's kinda what I thought. ;) Haven't seen any complete seats, and I don't think you can get the frames. You have to reuse the frames and buy covers, buns and springs as needed. There's not many brands to choose from, but most people seem to recommend the PUI covers. You can get them from several sources, Year One is one of them. As far as the rest of the parts go, you probably have to ask here for each and every part and see who the best vendor is. I don't think there's any vendor that has a complete assortment of good repro parts.
furball8994 Oct 9th, 06, 5:45 PM Robby. Check our sponsor in the upper right corner. If they don't have what you need try one of these. chevy classic muscle (http://www.oldmusclecars.com/), Harmons (http://www.harmons.com/), OPG (http://www.opgi.com/), Yearone (http://www.yearone.com/), And my preferance, The Paddock (http://www.paddockparts.com/Paddock/assets/html/homepage.asp?URLCheck=1)

Try to post this in the "Tag Team" (http://www.chevelles.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=15) section. I'm sure someone will be able to decode it.
sevendchevy Oct 10th, 06, 12:01 PM Becuase your in Anaheim you have three vendors near you. OPG in Huntington Beach,True connections in Riverside (91 & 15 area ) and Muscle Factory in PLecntia. All are pretty good, also check with True Connections to find out when next Pomona swap meet is always good stuff threre. Good luck!
Poompapa's 72 Oct 17th, 06, 9:25 PM Glide Engineering, Inc. is making reproduction frames. They sell the pair of buckets for $550 and the pair of headrests for $90. I believe they come with the buns. Covers can be found in numerous places (I think they sell them too). I don't know how the quality or fit is, but I sure would have tried them out if I knew about them about a year ago. I'm in deep on the cost of restoring some old seats now. Good luck.
