After I stripped the driver's side door, I see that the door has two sets of holes for the mirror. I'm thinking that the mirror was moved to eliminate interference with the vent window opening.
Any one else find this on their car?
Did the mirrors interfere with vent window operation in their original location?
Thanks!

We just restored a 67 and the driver's door also had 2 sets of holes for the mirror also. The owner wanted the mirror mounted on the rear holes so we welded up the front ones.I thought that someone just drilled holes in the wrong place or they mounted another type of mirror on. now you got me thinking!Be nice if someone knows what the real deal is!

I think that is just "the way they are" I have three '67 doors that all have a configuration like:

Don't know why they decided to go all swiss cheesed for the mirror mount. I think the stock mirror was just a flat, round disk that clears the vent window fine.
