Has any one opted to rebuild the bottom 3" instead of replace the entire wheelhouse? How did you do it? What problems did you run into? What gauge steel did you use? Is is worth saving $100 bucks on a repro?

I have fabricated wheel lip steel, from flexible edge strip. Your local body supply has is in 1in. and 2 in. X 36in length's.
For 3in ARGH I would bite the bullet and replace the whole outer wheel house. It will save you time and be a neater ,better job.
