From another post, it appears my Ground Up reproduction mirror isn't right to cover the big hole in my door. (and too late to send it back now since I've had it since July and just tried to install....)

Has anyone bought a mirror from anyone lately that actually fits?

Thanks.

Ground Up will likely still take your mirror back. I had the same problem with a repro mirror and even the GM replacement mirror, neither one fit right or looked original. I ended up getting my old mirror rechromed and now I'm happy. I used Advanced Custom Chrome in Erie, PA and got the date coded mirror glass from Parragon.

I put an ad in classifieds here, so perhaps that'll flush out something usable. Thanks.

Are any of the early Monte Carlo mirrors interchangable with the chevelles...if so, what
years will work on what years?

70 Chevelle and 70 Monte are the same, both stationary and remote. 71, 72 Chevelle and Monte remote mirrors are the same, not 100% on the stationary.

As a follow up to initial post. Before I spent $ for a new/different mirror, I ordered a mounting kit from another vendor. The mounting kit and gasket worked perectly with the mirror I'd already bought. Mounts flat, and covers hole. It appeared the mounting kit they'd sold was poorly made, didn't hold the mirror flat, and had a flat piece of rubber for a gasket, rather than the moulded piece which it should have had.

Might want to keep this in mind for anyone ordering a repro mirror.

Thanks for input.

The mirrors I bought for my 68 from OPG fit just fine. I bought the US made re-pop bow tie mirrors.
