I've sanded to bare metal my firewall and cowl drain area, both had a minor surface rust. Would Por-15 be a good choice with one of the top coats for the UV protection? Can Por-15 take the heat when applied to the firewall? The cowl area, and where it drains, seems like it would benefit from the Por-15 protection? Any suggestions, the metal is bare and I need to cover it up soon?

I don't know any reason why not. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif

If you do use POR 15 get the one the has the UV screen in it. Also figure out a way to bag the front after painting.

I did mine with a couple of thin coats of por-15 then before it totally dried, I painted it with a semi gloss.

Brob, what do you mean by "bag" the front?
