: POR or Spray? Opinions?

I am preparing to paint my firewall this weekend. My fire wall is 50% surface rust, 50% old paint. (check out my website for a pic)

I have 2 choices.

1. knock off the existing rust, and prime/paint with a decent rattle can.

2. knock off the paint and use POR , with a gloss coating.

Just some other facts - the radiator support is done in the POR, but the new inner fenders will most likely be the rattle can.
I have materials to do either - just looking for opinions.

I used the POR 15 on my firewall and inner fenders and I love how it looks. I also painted frame and floor pans with POR 15 also. I used the gloss black on the floor pans and the chassis black for the frame and the firewall. I love how the gloss black looks-it "almost" looks like a powdercoat, while the chassis black looks more like the way the firewall looked from the factory. Either way you cant go wrong in my opinion.

I did my floorboards with the silver, then the black. I'm very happy (see bodywork link below)

This weekend (hopefully) I'm doing my cowl with POR 15, then topcoating with chasis black...

P.S. I've always brushed it on and had great results.

Spend the extra time and effort and use the POR.You'll be glad later...

I used right at a quart of the silver and about 3/4 of a quart with the black. The silver is a little "thicker" than the black...the black goes a looong way...hope this helps.
