Hi all

How do I remove the lid to the smuggler's box? I see the bolts that go through the bed as well as some rivets. Do both the rivets and bolts hold it down? Or just the bolts? Do I need to pop those rivets out?

I want to seal the lid up so it doesn't leak and I'm wondering how big of a job it is to remove it.

Unless it's already been tampered with, there should only be bolts/screws/"some kind of fastener" holding it on, located around the edges. It's just a piece of sheet metal, nothing glamorous. Perhaps a previous owner drilled and riveted the center support because it was noisy. If that's the case, you'll need to remove those as well...

Okay, so the rivets in my bed aren't stock... This is my first Elco and I didn't know for sure.
