I hear of people taking the sag out of their rails at home.I have a 67 chevelle that according to the book measures out to specs but everyone says to go ahead and spread between A arms about 3/4 inch for future.Whats your opion and how to spread. Thanks!

Let me get this straight, your frame measures out ok, but people are telling you to make it WRONG so IF in the future it bends it will be right? Forget about it and drive the car. Not ALL frames bend, both of mine are perfect, should I go out and make them WRONG just incase they ever bend?

Has the car been aligned? If It has post the final specs you got. Also how many and how thick are the shims on your upper control arms at those final specs.

I just bought car before I took it all apart and never drove it. It had one thin shim in front of A arm and 2 fairly thick ones in rear on both sides so I don't know how the alligment was.The only specs and place I measured was in front of A arms and rail tips.Do you know a measurement between A frame mounts or another place i could check? THANKS for reply

It's not about measuring things on the frame. It's about measuring the wheel alignment.

I don't have the stock specs available right now, so I can't tell you what they are.

I can tell you that the camber is the main spec that's affected by frame sag. Caster may be affected to a lesser degree.

Actually, you could measure between the the lower control arms to determan whether or not the frame has "sagged" the way these do.

I agree with Martin. DO NOT pull the frame if it is correct now. You will end up doing more damage especially if you have no previous frame experience. And attempting this at home? I don't think so. I have 35 years experience and frame training and I would never attempt this at home. With no experience, your going to be in big trouble
