: Homemade "Rotisserie"
Johnny_pugh Aug 11th, 03, 12:19 PM I have just completed a "Rotisserie" made of wood. It is basically 2 80" plywood discs attached to my 69 Malibu convertible body with 2X4's and Carriage bolts. This will be my first attempt
at posting pics. I have gotten several hints & tips from other TCers so I thought I would share this with you. If you cannot view the pics, go to the showroom and click on Johnny_pugh
If anyone is interested in the details, please email me.

The pictures are pretty dark for me but looks like a good way for a person handy with wood working that maybe don't have a welder to have a rotisserie.
boomhauer Aug 11th, 03, 7:44 PM Thats cool, i am getting ready to build one for my camaro shell. I was thinking of making it out of two 1200 lb engine stands. Then i saw a rollover dolly that a guy made of wood and was thinking of that. Yours looks pretty cool, do you have a diagram?
BTW heres the one im talking about. Flipper (http://www.ado13.com/flip/flipper.html)
Johnny_pugh Aug 12th, 03, 12:06 AM Boomhauer, Thanks for the reply. The cross members in the photos would limit the access to the underbody of the Flipper. My design allows complete access to the underside for cleaning, welding Etc. I realise my posted pics arn't all that great but give a general idea. I will make up a drawing and post it as soon as I can. Thanks for your interest.

boomhauer Aug 12th, 03, 7:31 AM What did you use to make the 80" discs?
Johnny_pugh Aug 12th, 03, 10:38 AM Thanks for the response guys. I am in the process of making some detail drawings of the rig that, hopefully will be self explanatory. Although I already had many parts kicking around, I will attempt an approx. price for building the Rotisserie, however , this will be in CDN $.
I will post when done. I am not a Carpenter, just a DIY.

Johnny_pugh Aug 12th, 03, 7:57 PM Here is an update to my Rotisserie post:
I had a few of the components kicking about (2X4, casters, some hardware) but the cost is around $140.00 CDN.
I will attempt to post a dwg & a step by step assembly sheet for those interested, or go to the showroom under Johnny_pugh. http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/Johnny_pugh/RotAug1203001.jpg http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/Johnny_pugh/Rotisserie.txt
