Ex Champ Car and Indy 500 racer Herm Johnson rode with me for a few laps. Nothing like getting some tips from a pro!

Keith, I was wondering what kind of reactions do you get from the other drivers when they see you going that fast.

Perhaps I'm just weird, but aside from hitting 148 mph (wow!) I thought it was pretty cool that the cowl induction flap was getting such a workout.

Thanks for posting the vid! Awesome.

In the middle of all those cars is your Camino tearing it up, I love it!:hurray:
Not familiar with your ride, what kind of powerplant are you running in that?

Awesome stuff man! Your car corners relatively flat, which is great... what size of tires do you have on it? From the one shot the rear tires almost look like a 315.

That is excellent... The bug has been biting me for a while and I'd love to get into Vintage racing, although I'm not going to race what I currently own...

As always, your vids are awesome! I especially like the track vision details, very cool. Also, your rpms are modest for the speeds - gotta love a torquey big block.

Keith, I was wondering what kind of reactions do you get from the other drivers when they see you going that fast. Shock & Awe! ;) j/k As you can imagine, in a sea of late model cars, it draws a lot of attention. I think the next oldest car was an '85 Camaro. A lot of the comments start with "I can't believe...". But they've all been positive. Everyone's always been very friendly. It's been a great experience.

Very nice! I have been at BIR many times but never on it. That right hand turn at the end of the straight is a fast one isn't it?

gotta love the cowl flap operation! awsome!

How is the flap operating if you are using fuel injection. Doesn't it work off vacuum from the carb or something like that? Either way, that car is awesome and would love to see it tearing up the road course.

Either way, that car is awesome and would love to see it tearing up the road course. It operates off manifold vacuum. On the factory setup there is a special vacuum fitting in the intake that feeds the brake booster and the cowl induction hood vent vacuum pod. Right now the cowl induction is not functional. I don't have the air cleaner sealed against the underside of the hood. That is in the works however.

Keith, I still say you need some 2 x 10's roped down and hanging over the tailgate with a red flag tied to the ends of them when you take it out on the track... Only then will the "image" be complete! LOL.

I uploaded a couple new videos. Still working on one more.

This is a short one showing an external shot coming around turn 10 heading onto the front straight and then a view down the straight from the top of the timing tower. Click here to watch. (http://media.putfile.com/El-Camino-Road-Course-Drive-By)

This one is my quickest lap ever at B.I.R. 2:02:65. I beat my previous best lap of 2:06:67. Click here to watch 2:02 Lap. (http://media.putfile.com/202-Lap-At-BIR)

What dash do you have in your car? I notice it has a Motec-like display with F1 inspired shift lights and all sorts of neat stuff. I'd like to know more about it. Thanks for sharing on the vids
