Does anyone know if this combo will fit under a stock cowl hood (2") in a '69 Camaro: GenV BBC, Performer RPM intake (rectangle), Holley Dominator 1050cfm, 1/2" carb adapter/spacer. And on top of all this, I would like to keep my cowl induction air cleaner setup :clonk: ! Would a drop base help or even work- someone make one? Don't want aftermarket cowl hood. I know I might have to drop the cowl induction setup, but don't want to. Trying to make this look like a stock (mostly) 396.:D Yes I did post this at Team Camaro too, but I know that a lot more of you guys are into the build-up/performance stuff:thumbsup:
Thanks in advance!

What's the reason for the dominator? I would think if the motor is going to use a dual plane manifold go with a 4150 carb. Try the 950 or 1000hp holleys.

Find an old C-454 Edelbrock dual plane. It has rectangular ports and a Dominator flange. No need for spacer/adapter and will help you get it all to fit.
They even made a C-400 version with oval ports and a Dominator flange.
They both are about the same height as an old 427/425 Hi-rise GM dual plane. They look just like the GM one, but they have larger runners.

Thanks for the reply. This car will mostly be street driven but will see some strip. The 1050 I got for a good deal, and the intake, I already had. I will look into the C-454. Thanks!

I have a Vic "O" 4500 w/a 1050 under my stock 69 Camaro hood. I have a 70's open black 14inch air cleaner lid top still working on the base. Richardson Racing Products make a drop base air cleaner base which I purchased but it's 16 inch and a cowl is 14-15. Of course I purhcased only the base and then sold it because no one offers a filter element for besides K&N and that was $65. The only paper element was for a late 50's early 60's Pontiac with 3 2's all in the same Aircleaner housing. All other companys that sell Dominator air cleaners are not drop base. So I plan on making my base out of sheet metal myself and use the lid from the Chevelle with the engine and HP sticker on it.

GMPARTS,
Do you have the stock 2" cowl hood? Stock BB frame mounts? How tall is your air filt. element and how much room is there from the top of the dominator to the hood? I will probably have to make my base too.
Thanks for the help! Just trying to line up my ducks;)

stock cowl hood & correct mounts with a 3 inch element. I also have an older style 1050 which is reported to be 1/2 inch shorter than an HP series. I'm guessing about an inch or 2 from the hood??
