A 1968 Buick 350 cylinder head weighs 51 lbs bare. With the valves, springs and retainers, probably closer to 54 lbs.

A 1969 Chevelle bucket seat, complete with headrest, weighs 55 lbs.

It's interesting how I pick up heavy cylinder heads and carry them around with one hand and yet a bucket seat seams so much harder to pick up and move around and they weigh the same.

Later on I'll weigh a 350 Pont head, a 350 Olds head and a BBC head.
Anyone want to know what something weighs? I've got a lot of iron around here.

that and the only places to grab a seat by are really thin pieces of metal and they dig into your hand making it feel heavier because it's exerting more PSI on your flesh.

Its all about the size and even distribution of weight.

Oh, I know. I just thought it was interesting as I was weighing these things before packaging to get an idea of the weight.
When you look at a cylinder head next to a bucket seat and realize that the bucket seat weighs the same, it just looks odd.
These darned old cylinder heads are heavy.
