Hi, I've realized that the reason my radio doesn't work is that the connector from the base of the windshield has been removed completely. Does anyone know if this can be repaired and what type of shop would be able to do that?

Try your local auto glass repair shop. They still manufacture those windshields with the antenae in them.

Thanks but I'm in the UK so my local shop won't have one I think. It also seems a bit extreme that I have to replace it just because the connector has dissapeared :(

I had the same problem-I installed a power antenna inside the trunk and it works great.The windshield wires were a piece of junk....

I picked up the connector at a local auto parts store.It just snaps on like a button,antennae wire plugs into it.At least that's how mine is,'70 model.Kinda hard to access and see where it's at.

So there are two holes there then? It's reall difficult to see when the windcreen is fitted...

there should be a plug hanging down from the windshield that fits normal antannae input on the radio if the plug and the wires are missing, youve no choice but to go with a different hidden antannae...if the plugs gone but the wires are present you can solder a plug on (from a store bought extension or a junkyard find) ....it's only a two circuit plug-- a pin in the middle and the ground around the outside....it may all be there, you just arent finding it and/or it needs an extension ..ive posted links for hidden antannaes somwhere here...do a search for "antannae"...lol, you might have to try a couple different spullings...ooops, *spellings*

I repaired one using an antenna adapter. The kind tha reduces or increases the size of your antenna connector for use with aftermarket stuff. I just cut it up and soldered a bit.

Well, my problem is that nothing stick out from the windshield and it's very difficult to see anything. So on the windshield, what do I need to connect to? Can I maybe use that stuff to fix heated rear windows?

On the connector, what would the middle thingy connect to and what would the "shield" connect to?
