My trunk lid on my 1966 Chevelle doesn't fit good. the two edges closest to the front stick up about 1/8 inch higher than the fenders, the middle is fine. Have other body problems but will talk about them later. Need help

THANKS,

Christopher

you might want to post this in the general forum-you'll get more responses...have you tried adjusting the trunklid after bolting it on?..hinges?

you will probably have to put a shim or washer between the hinge and lid I forgot if you shim the front bolt to lower or the back bolt to lower, but its easy to do neverless.

The main problem is the edges. The middle of the back side of the trunk lid is even with the panel below the back window. as you go from this point toward the edges they lift up by 1/4 inch on each side. the rest of the trunk is Ok, except the two edges.

I shimed the hinges between the lid and was able to make the corners even. I forget if you shim the front bolt to lower or the back bolt to lower. one will lower one will raise, you'll just have to try a couple combos.I would try this, its very easy and if it does not work your only out about 15 min. of time. Good luck.
